MVP, HHC Keeping Children Warm This Winter

Monday, Nov. 22, 2021 -- It’s that time of year again! Hometown Health Centers (HHC) is happy to partner with MVP Health Care for its sixth annual Coats for Kids fundraising effort. The health effects of extreme cold weather can be life threatening. Cold weather makes the body work harder, putting stress on the heart. Children can quickly develop hypothermia, when exposed to extreme cold.

Hearts

With HHC’s strong focus on addressing social determinants of health, we know that lack of adequate winter clothing is a barrier that many families face during these colder months. Thanks to MVP, hundreds of our medical, dental, behavioral health and school-based health patients are now able to receive a brand new coat to help stay warm this winter season.

To donate gently used coats of all sizes, drop off your cleaned coat(s) at one of the following conveniently located local dry cleaners listed here.

MVP Health Care will donate all new and used coats to local non-profit organizations throughout the Capital Region.

HHC is grateful to MVP Health Care and B. Lodge & Co. and News10 for their ongoing support and dedication.
