“This week is a time to recognize the accomplishments of America’s Health Centers as local solutions for affordable and accessible health care,” said Hometown Health Center CEO Joe Gambino, whose 44-year-old primary medical care practice serves more than 80,000 patient visits annually in both Schenectady and Montgomery counties. “At the same time, HealthFest provides us with an opportunity to give back to the local community and thank them for their support throughout the year.”

Sponsored by Fidelis Care, the health-focused festival features an array of family activities, including free health screenings and health education booths, giveaways and prizes supported by CDPHP and MVP Healthcare. Other community health partners such as Ellis Medicine, Schenectady County Public Health, and the American Cancer Society will be in attendance with screening and educational booths. There will also be free hot dogs provided by Gershons Deli. Meantime, kids can have fun at the activities table, get a free balloon and other goodies and dance the afternoon away while a local DJ spins some of today’s most popular hits.
