Vision Services

Patients at Hometown Health Centers have access to an onā€site Optometrist for routine eye exams, diabetic retinal exams, urgent eye care, and referrals to eye specialists.

It is important to get yearly eye examinations, even if a vision impairment does not currently exist. Some ophthalmic conditions can present with no symptoms and progresses to irreversible vision loss. Routine examinations can help to identify these diseases. Yearly eye exams can help test for cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy; and can help to identify these pathologies before vision loss occurs.

New for Hometown Health Center Patients!

HHC is excited to begin using the Welch Allyn RetinaVue digital camera to screen diabetic patients to help diagnose diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in the United States, but with preventative care it is avoidable and treatable.
